Some Red Roses

Our dishwasher failed this morning so I'm elbow deep in suds and kind of enjoying it. I don't want this job back full time but I'm not complaining because there are more critical appliances that could fail -- like the air conditioner for instance.

Though I don't mind doing a few dishes, I want my washer fixed. I've grown accustomed to my appliances and gadgets. I can't imagine life without a cell phone or the internet.

But dishwashing got me thinking about how much technology I take for granted. Almost daily I get an e-mail from Margaret in England. Sometimes I need to stop and think how amazing that is. And just this morning she sent me her latest review at http://redrosesforauthors.blogspot.com/2008/07/breaking-clouds.html

Isn't it amazing that we can read and rejoice over the same review at Red Roses in mere minutes though a huge ocean separates us. So today I'm saying whoa for Margaret and technology.

Thanks, Kathy, for the little plug - ha, no pun intended!

Well I don't have a dishwasher, I live in primitive England and always up to my elbows in fairy liquid! I appreciate a dishwasher when I am in the States with my family, so can see how you would miss it.

Technology IS marvellous, where would be without it? Everything at our finger tips and most importantly, we are quickly in touch with our friends and family across that wide, wide ocean.

I don't have a dishwasher either and I live in Florida! I've never minded washing dishes though. Course, we live off paper plates:)

Congrats on the good review, Margaret. I just had to check it out:)

What a wonderful review. Congratulations, Margaret! And I love it that Kathy brought this to our attention. :)

I don't know what I'd do without the dishwasher. We cook and bake a great deal here, and the idea of washing all those dishes, bowls, pots and pans gives me the shivers. Scary, indeed!
