Coffee, caffeine and chocolate! Which one are you?
Coffee and caffeine are not the same thing. Though some folks would argue that you get your caffeine from coffee. Only I can't seem to get started in the mornings without my decaf. And it has to be the good stuff. My all time favorite is Barnie's Santa's White Christmas. Hubby hates the flavored stuff though and says it's crap. That's because he likes the black, thick as tar brew that will put hair on your chest! Humm...if only it put hair on his head:)
Caffeine comes in the way of tea for me. I'm talking sweet tea. Anyone from the south knows I'm not talking about hot tea loaded down with sugar. I mean fresh brewed tea from tea bags, or even better, like my dad still makes it. He fills a pot with water, fills a tin tea ball with loose tea, and then brews it. While it's still hot he adds plenty of sugar, then pours it into a pitcher half filled with water and stirs it up good, then puts it in the fridge to chill. Yum, yum!
Chocolate...Is self explanatory. I keep a bag of York mint patties in the freezer. It's a low fat food. And it will satisfy me most of the time. But, when I want to binge on chocolate (due to stress or any other reason I can come up with at the moment) it has to be the good stuff. Sound familiar? Guess I'm spoiled. I like white chocolate too but you can't really binge on that because it's so darn sweet! Chocolate with nuts is the best!
Coffee, caffeine and chocolate at the same time? That's definitely an overdose of the three C's but oh but oh what a way to go!

Oh my gosh, Debbie, you've made me hungry. And thirsty. And hungry. Did i say hungry? Oh, but it's just that chocolate makes me lose my mind. It is, by far, one of my favorite things on this planet.
I'm going to put peppermint patties on the grocery list. I never thought of putting them in the freezer! You've taught me something this morning, thank you! I can guarantee it's a lesson I won't forget, either!! :)
Happy Monday!
Oh boy, my favourite subject. I love to eat chocolate, followed by a cup of black coffee, hey none of that parachute stuff either, only the real McCoy will do.
I love my tea hot (no milk) and it has to be, as my mother used to say, "like maid's water."
Well someone has to lower the tone.
Margaret.
LOL...I usually put all my chocolate in the freezer. I thought by doing so it would keep me from pigging out on it...WRONG!!
Hey Margaret, please explain what maid's water is:)
I drink hot tea once in a while, usually if I go to a traditional afternoon tea like when the girls and I visited Victoria. I have to add cream & sugar, though.
All my favorite things!
I like my tea like Margaret does, no milk. "Straight up," my husband says.
:) Sarita, who's again too lazy to sign in!
Hey Debbie, How can I put what Maid's water is politely. Well a maid used to be a young lady with no knowledge of a gentleman and her water was pure and clear. Very old fashioned saying from yonks. Her water is ... well you know, what we have to run to the bathroom to do. Told you it lowered the tone.
Debbie, you never put chocolate in the refrigerator. I was told that by a Belgium chocolate maker. But how you keep it fresh or from melting in Florida I don't know. You are supposed to keep it in a cool dark place.
Ta ta, Margaret.
Thanks for explaining the maid's water Margaret.
I don't know why I started putting chocolate in the freezer, I guess to keep it from spoiling. Then I found out I like it cold, it doesn't freeze but it does get very cold and hard. And...it doesn't melt:)
